This easy fruit salad is a quick citrus glaze that brings more flavor to already delicious fruit.

    Fruit Salad with a Glaze

I feel like Fruit Salad doesn't usually need anything to fancy to make it great.

The fruit is such a star on its own.

    The best natures candy.

But sometimes you want to jazz it up. Insert this fruit salad with a glaze.

This just gives the fruit a little more pazazz if you will.

You can use any fruit that you love in your fruit salad.

I don't tend to use bananas ever because they kinda gross me out when they get brown, anyone else feel me on that?

    fruit salad with glaze

I think this is best with strawberries, blueberries, mini oranges, pineapple, raspberries, or any berry really.

But you can experiment with it.

You want all your fruit chopped up and ready to go in a bowl.

You can set this aside while you make this quick glaze.

    For the syrup you need:

    • fresh orange juice * I squeeze my own
    • fresh lime juice
    • brown sugar
    • and a hint of vanilla

You're going to start by mixing your ingredients in a small saucepan.

Easy Fruit Salad with Citrus Glaze

Once it's all mixed together you want to simmer it on the stove until it starts to thicken.

You want to watch this because with the sugar it can get a little burnt quickly.

Once it's thickened, remove it from heat and let it sit to cool a bit.

Once the glaze is cooled go ahead and pour it over your fruit and stir.

As with most salads, this fruit salad tastes best as it has time to absorb the glaze.

This is perfect for a potluck or a summer gathering.

Fresh fruit is one of my favorite summer treats.

How do you like your fruit salad? Let me know your comments!
