This easy homemade lemonade uses a simple syrup, fresh lemons, and love to make this taste like the perfect lemonade.
The Best Lemonade
Lemonade is one of those classic summer drinks that bring you right back to your childhood.
How many people have done a lemonade stand?
But come to think of it my kids have yet to do one. I better get on that with this delicious homemade lemonade.
I think lemonade always has the same basic ingredients, just different ways to get the end result.
Do you need fresh lemons?
Yes, the only way to make this is with fresh lemonade. You would have to use so much of the fake lemon and would not taste nearly as tasty.
What is a simple syrup?
Simple syrup is simply sugar water that is melted down to be a bit more concentrated and to make sure all the sugar granules are dissolved.
It's a super easy process I'll go over in the recipe.
How do you store this lemonade?
You really want to store this in the fridge until it's time to use it. Ice cubes will dilute the flavor of the lemonade.
What do you need for the best lemonade?
- 1 ¼ cup white sugar
- 7 cups water
- 1.5 cups fresh lemon juice
How do you make the Lemonade?
Start by making your simple syrup by taking a small saucepan and adding 1 cup of the water and the sugar, stir, and boil stirring constantly, turn down to medium and stir until the sugar has dissolved for about 5 minutes.
Cool this to room temperature.
While you're waiting for it to cool you can juice your lemons with a citrus juicer, then stick that juice in the fridge while you're waiting.
Now combine your remaining 6 cups of water with your sugar water and stir.
Stick in the fridge until cool and ready to serve.
*If you hate any lemon pulp I would recommend taking a sifting strainer and straining the lemon juice through it before adding it to the water and simple syrup.
If it's too sweet for your liking you can add more cold water or ice cubes.
